Low Carb Resources

Going low carb can be a difficult and confusing transition. There are so many different diet plans, websites, and facebook groups out there, some sharing conflicting information. I know when I started, there was definitely a learning curve and I spent a lot of time researching, trying new things, and learning as much as I could. In this past year, I have found that there are a few places I tend to spend the most time and find the most beneficial information for me. Whether you are new to low carb or a seasoned low carb eater, these are all some great places to find tips, recipes, or just a little support.

1. Traveling Low Carb with Lynn Terry

Traveling Low Carb

This is probably one of the first low carb/high fat sites that I found and instantly loved. There is so much information! I especially love the pictures of meals and information on dining out. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what to eat, especially when you’re traveling, and this site helps to fill in those gaps. I also like that the blog’s owner, Lynn Terry, is honest about her successes and her struggles. Too often, bloggers only seem to share their progress, but Lynn writes candidly about the times when she gains weight or falls off the wagon. I value that honesty.

2. I Breathe I’m Hungry

I Breathe I'm Hungry

If I’m looking for a recipe, this is the first place I check. The site is filled with tons of delicious, low carb recipes. Sometimes I just want to scroll through the photos and gawk at all the drool-worthy food. It’s hard to believe that it’s all low carb! The recipes on this site have all been tested, so I know that they will turn out and taste delicious. I made the cream cheese pancakes for breakfast just this morning.

3. Eat Fat Lose Fat

Eat Fat Lose Fat

This is another site that includes a lot of good recipes, as well as tips and diet information. I’ve especially enjoyed following the author’s recent journey into no carb eating. The recipe for “cornbread” that I found on this site is a definite winner.

4. Life Unprocessed via Wheat Belly

Life Unprocessed via Wheat Belly

There are so many facebook groups out there, but this is one that I constantly check. When I started eating low carb, I also gave up wheat products and try to avoid grains as much as possible. While this group is primarily for following the Wheat Belly way of eating, there are still tons of wonderful low carb recipes that are posted and shared. This is a great place to find recipes for desserts.

5. 90 Day Low Carb Challenge

90 Day Low Carb Challenge

The size of this group can be overwhelming, but it’s a wonderful resource. I love seeing the success of others, from small, non-scale victories to astonishing amounts of weight lost. Transformation Tuesday pics are very inspirational. I don’t participate often in this group, but group member share links to lots of articles and recipes. There are lots of new low carb eaters in this group, as well as those that have been following the low carb way of life for years. I’ve found that if I need a question answered, this is the place to go.
